Kirsten Dirksen travels the world reporting on Videos about simple living, self-sufficiency, small (and tiny) homes, backyard gardens (and livestock), alternative transport, DIY, craftsmanship, and philosophies of life. In this video she interviews former Army tech Larry Johnson.
Johnson spent his career improving computer and telephone systems so when he saw inefficiencies in how we grow our food, he decided to create a new system for farming your yard. His EZGro garden uses aquaponics, stacked towers, and custom pots to create a high-density vertical garden (HDVG) on as little land as a deck, rooftop, or parking space.
Johnson says the system will grow 700 plants, using 15 towers, in a space of just 2 by 18 feet. Today, he sells kits ranging from single tower patio gardens to 10-tower deck gardens to commercial-sized set-ups like those being used by a Miami football stadium for concession meals, by a Whole Foods Market in New Jersey, and by rooftop farmers in Lagos, Nigeria.

It was one of those days. I made a mistake and ran with it. I was so confused as to why another person couldn't see it was sensible.
It took me most of the day until I reached out to a friend and asked for help. And he helped. He showed me where I had made the mistake and told me that it is a very common misunderstanding within the context of the circumstances.
The thing is, I was certain that others could not see the obvious. Why was I so certain? It turned out that I had made a math mistake.
And, I learned a lot about myself and others --all in less than 24 hours.

Monday evening, I looked to my right and noticed the stack of books sitting there. I have books everywhere. I hoard books.
And, I reduced my number of books considerably over the course of my last move a year and a half ago. And so, why are these particular books on my desk?
Perhaps every so often I move them to some other part of the house; like they are on a vacation. I don't remember how these books got here. I do remember each and everyone of these books, and how each is an adventure into an understanding, an education about something that in the "normal" course of a lifetime is rarely thought about. Well, not quite, The Angry Marriage book is probably something most of us can relate to at one time or another.
Perhaps it doesn't really matter what we think about at all.
Maybe the only thoughts worth having are those that might bring you into feelings/behaviors described as: kind, loving, caring, hoping, thoughtful, considerate, compassionate, empathetic, giving, listening, forgiving, accepting and allowing.
That's probably all we need. Really. After all, there are so many things to worry about out there. I like to share information that I think will help others and yet that might not even be an endeavor worth continuing.
In the end, it probably really depends on your cosmology, your concept of the universe, what it all means to you and things that have meaning to us, that we dwell upon, make their way into our reality in time.

The buzz these days is Wall Street. (Game stock, and now silver are now in the headlines.)
In its ideal form it is a place to buy and sell shares in companies. In its present form, it is a corrupt enterprise of companies designed to rip off the little people and reward the criminals. The revolving door places executives in the role of regulators and the regulators in the roles of executives, all to enrich themselves at the expense of regular people. It is a travesty and criminal. The Securities and exchange commission does little to regulate these behaviors and is many times complicit in cover ups of criminal activity.
As an example of the revolving door, Janet Yellen is now the head of the Treasury. Really? She was the head of the Federal Reserve an privately held institution whose stockholders you will hear little of and never meet. They are the one percent of the one percent and represent dynasties that have ruled the world through the manipulation of "money" for hundreds of years. Think there might be any conflict of interest here?
My pick of the day is someone I have followed for some time Bix Weir. He has been trying to expose the criminality of the manipulation of the Silver market for twenty years. Watch his most recent video here. This is a excellent educational video.
